Providence Monthly and Seven Stars Bakery Keeping Kids Warm This Winter
Businesses Partner to Provide Winter Coats for Children

Providence, RI – With temperatures outside dropping and the economy worsening, Providence Monthly is partnering with Providence-based Seven Stars Bakery for a coat drive during the first two weeks of November.  All coats collected will be donated to children who are members of the Olneyville Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence.

“Right now our parents are having trouble feeding their kids, never mind buying new winter coats.  These donations can’t come in soon enough for our members,” said Kris Leveillee, senior branch manager of the Olneyville Club.

John Taraborelli, assistant editor at Providence Monthly, said, “With our offices located on Valley Street in Olneyville, we wanted to do this where we would be able to have an impact in our own neighborhood.  The Boys & Girls Clubs was right here and a perfect fit for what we wanted to do.”

Collection boxes have been placed at both Seven Stars Bakery locations at 820 Hope Street and 342 Broadway, both in Providence, and will be in place through November 14.
