General Gift Donation *
Gifts to the Boys & Girls Club of Providence benefit over 8,000 children and teens in various after-school, evenings and weekend activities in neighborhoods in which they live. It costs approximately $667 per year to provide programs and services to one youth. Programs like our Power Hour homework assistance program; Kids Café, serving over 101,000 meals annually; and our nationally-recognized SMART Moves, a drug and alcohol prevention program, are making a difference every day.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Providence is proud of stewardship in effectively managing contributions from individuals, businesses and organizations. Last year, the Club spent about 4.5% of its budget on its fundraising. For every dollar spent on fundraising, we generate four additional dollars in cash and in-kind contributions. For every dollar donated, 86.9 cents is spent directly on programs for kids. For more financial information, view our Annual Report.

Other Ways of Giving
Gifts of appreciated stock.
Stocks can be gifted to the Club and then sold by the Club within a few days. Donors are able to take a tax donation at the current value of the stock.
Gifts of property, homes, cars, timeshares, etc.
Matching gifts from your employer. Often corporations will offer to match employees’ gifts to their favorite charities.
Gifts through special events.
Our special events are designed to provide cash and in-kind sponsors with marketing and promotional exposure:
Gifts that Last a Lifetime
Gifts through wills and living trusts.
A bequest is the most traditional way to provide important help for future generations of youth. With a gift through your will or living trust you retain full use of your gift property during your life.
Life Insurance.
You can name the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Ana as the beneficiary of your life insurance. Such a gift may entitle you to an income tax deduction.
Benefits from IRAs and Pension Funds.
Your estate can save both income taxes and estate taxes if you make the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Ana the beneficiary of your IRA or other retirement savings plan.
Make a “temporary” gift of cash or income-producing property.
This type of gift lets the Boys & Girls Club “borrow” income-producing assets for several years (through a charitable lead trust), with the assets later passing to children or grandchildren. This can reduce income taxes and future gift taxes, estate taxes and generation-skipping transfer taxes.

* Note: Cash, check or credit card gifts are the simplest and most direct way to benefit a youth today and receive a tax deduction.
